I don't expect WC to have a perfect track record of always releasing their updates to the very hour, minute and second they announce, but I would expect a professional company with PR considerations, a broad fanbase and thousands of customers to be at least remotely dilligent and prudent when making ETAs for updates to their products.
Barely a single update has been on time acording to their ETA, and many have been delayed days or even weeks past their original planned release. Yet as we all know, that's not the case with Ark updates. Sure something unexpected may come up once in a while to throw their ETAs off, but as a general rule, their estimations would be accurate to within a few hours or so. But I think most people, when they make an ETA for something, they do it conservatively. Sure ETA means estimated, I don't debate that. I'm not meaning a specific definition or specific words man, I'm talking a general concept instead. Did you think the E in ETA means Exact or something? Because to me, while they may not often meet the date they posted, they are still within the Estimated time frame, which to me is a pretty accurate meaning to ESTIMATED Time of Arrival. So, there estimation can be withing a few days or weeks depending on the scale of their project. Ursprünglich geschrieben von Hermit:and seem to have their own definition of 'ETA', Kinda curious as to what YOUR definition of ETA is? Because to me, the E stands for Estimated which means not exact. While I too am a little disappointed about how the game has been developed and am itching for Primal to come out, it is a good thing that they seem to be motoring on quite a lot with development of the base game now, even if it's not quite in the order and to the timetable promised.
This worries me as it is february 27th and ARK: primal survival is still not out. People felt, rightly or wrongly, that development of the DLC had been taking away from development of Ark prime. Ark: primal survival was originally set to get released in december(or november cant remember) but with the way games are made and anything can happen it was obviosly delayed for some reason and pushed forward to late february. After all, it's devs 'working on base ARK instead of what they were assigned to do' which was one of the main fears/complaints about Scorched Earth. Whilst it is true that WC have made a few mistakes, and seem to have their own definition of 'ETA', we do have to be careful about being overly hard on them. "Oh it will be out in November! Wait, no, we're making them work on base ARK instead of what they were assigned to do, it'll be out in February! Wait, no, we have no reason this time, it'll be out.Sometime."Īt this point I feel like they lied about it, and it's been so hyped up so many times that when they do finish it it'll probably just disappoint, as most new things in ARK tend to do.
